Jinx is one of the most popular champion in League of Legends roster. Placing her as main star of Netflix's Arcane show was a great choice, because more people than ever loves her now. Today I will give you few tips, that should help you start winning some ranked games with her!
Jinx, the Loose Cannon, ain't so loose in the game, and she is very solid pick. She has several strengths that make her a formidable ADC in ranked play:
High Range Poke in Lane: Jinx’s rocket launcher (Q) allows her to harass opponents from a safe distance, making it difficult for enemies to retaliate effectively.
Zone Control and Interrupts: Her Flame Chompers (E) can be strategically placed to zone out flanking enemies or interrupt engages. Properly timed, they can turn the tide of team fights.
Global Impact with Super Mega Death Rocket!: Jinx’s ultimate ability, Super Mega Death Rocket! ®, can swing fights across the map. It deals significant damage and can secure kills even from afar.
Item Synergy: Jinx excels with items that boost her attack speed, critical strike chance, and life steal. These synergize well with her kit, allowing her to deal consistent damage in team fights.
However, it’s essential to be aware of her weaknesses too:
Immobility: Jinx lacks mobility, which makes her vulnerable to ganks. Positioning and map awareness are crucial to avoid getting caught out of position.
Weakness Until Passive Procs: Her passive, Get Excited! (P), grants her a burst of movement speed and attack speed after a kill or assist. Until it activates, she may feel weaker in fights.
Long Cooldown on Flame Chompers: Her E ability has a relatively long cooldown (24 seconds at rank 1). Once used, she becomes susceptible to enemy aggression.
Remember to play to her strengths, position wisely, and capitalize on her powerful late-game scaling!
Now when we know what are here strong and weak sides, we can prepare some tactics to take the lead on the rift.
Laning Phase:
Harass, harass and harass! As stated before her Q is very good to poke enemies, and it shouldn't put you at risk for trying. You need to constantly be mindful of your positioning. With no escape mechanics, you can only rely on her traps and your eyes! When you don't fight with enemies, Prioritize last-hitting minions to scale well into the late game.
Mid Game:
You probably have the same adrenaline rush as Jinx has, when her passive turns on. Try to use it to take down turrets and objectives. Think about your team and coordinate with them to secure dragons, Rift Herald. Once you will win your lane and destroy tower, move to another lane and take another building from opponents.
Late Game:
Stay at the backline and deal consistent damage, she is a glass cannon archetype, so you better keep your health bar full. Your passive grants movement speed after a kill or assist, so capitalize on it. Snipe low-health enemies or initiate fights with your R. Properly timed ultimates can turn the tide!
If you don't play solo, it's good to play duo with dedicated buddy that will support you. Here are few picks that will pair well with her and complement her strengths:
Tahm Kench: His Devour (W) can save you from danger, and he provides crowd control. Soraka: Her healing keeps you alive during teamfights. Taric: His ultimate (Cosmic Radiance) syncs perfectly with Jinx’s AoE damage. Vel’Koz: His long-range poke and crowd control set up kills for Jinx. Braum:His tankiness and crowd control protect Jinx in fights.
Remember, communication and teamwork are essential. Adapt your playstyle based on your support and team composition. Good luck on the Rift!
