Patch 26.19 goes live on Wednesday, September 23. It is the last balance patch before 26.20, the patch Worlds 2026 is played on, which makes the change list something closer to a statement of intent than a routine tuning pass.
For solo queue it matters for a simpler reason. The nerfs are aimed directly at what is winning right now.
What changed
Ten buffs, six nerfs and one adjustment that is neither. Here is the part that moves the tier list.
Nerfs
| Champion |
Change |
| Nasus |
Q bonus damage 40-120 to 30-110 |
| Nocturne |
R cooldown 140/115/90 to 160/130/100 |
| Poppy |
Q monster damage cap 85-225 to 70-210 |
| Rumble |
Overheat attack speed and monster damage cap both reduced |
| Ryze |
E mana cost up, Q Flux bonus damage down, armor growth added as compensation |
| Vi |
Base AD and AD per level down, passive shield 12% to 10% of max health |
Look at what is actually being hit. Poppy and Rumble both lose monster damage, not champion damage. Nocturne loses 20 seconds on his rank 1 ultimate. Vi loses the shield that lets her walk into a gank and survive it. Four of the six nerfs are jungle nerfs, and three of them target clearing and mobility rather than combat strength.

| Volibear |

| Aphelios |
Calibrum 70-160 to 80-170, plus Severum, Gravitum, Infernum and Crescendum changes |
Five of the ten buffs are junglers. Read the two tables together and the patch has a clear shape: Riot is not shrinking the jungle, it is swapping out which junglers are strong.
Lucian is being moved, not tuned
His passive Vigilance drops from 15 base on-hit damage to 5. His Q climbs from 80-220 to 90-250.
Vigilance is the part of the kit a support procs, which is why Lucian has spent years oscillating between unplayable and mandatory depending on whether Nami and Milio were in a good spot. Taking power out of it and putting it into Q makes him stronger on his own and weaker with an enchanter attached. That is a mid lane Lucian change dressed as a bot lane one.
System changes
Teleport cooldown goes from 420 to 390 seconds, and the upgraded version gets another 30 seconds off on top. The top lane Role Quest is what upgrades it, so in practice this is a top lane buff, and Riot has said the goal is to give top more map influence at high skill levels without turning it into a roaming role.
Support items trade health for regeneration. World Atlas loses its 30 bonus health and goes from 25% to 50% health regen. Runic Compass drops from 100 health to 60 and goes from 50% to 75% regen. Supports are slightly easier to burst and noticeably harder to poke out of lane.
Top lane
Going into the patch the highest win rates at top belong to Singed at around 54.7%, Tryndamere at 53.7% and Nasus at 52.8%.
Treat that list carefully. All three are champions whose win rate comes largely from opponents not knowing the matchup, which inflates them heavily below Diamond and deflates them above it. A 54% Singed is not evidence that Singed is the strongest top laner. It is evidence that most players do not know how to play against Singed.
Nasus is the one getting nerfed, and the nerf is real: 10 damage off his Q bonus at every rank. It does not break the champion, but it slows the stack window that makes him work, and his win rate was built on surviving to that window.
The picks worth moving to:
- Fiora gets the most complete buff in the patch. Six extra health per level is 108 health at level 18, on a champion who already wins extended fights, and the ultimate heal now reaches 600 units and ticks for more. She was already a strong blind pick into most bruisers. She is now a better one.
- Aatrox gets a lower W cooldown at early ranks, which is the part that matters. At rank 1 it drops 2 full seconds, so his lane pressure before level 6 improves without touching his late game.
- Teleport favours anyone who already wants to play for side lane and then show up. If you play Camille, Jax or Gnar, the shorter cooldown is worth more to you than most of the champion buffs in this patch.

Avoid picking Nasus into the patch expecting last patch's numbers.
Jungle
The jungle is where this patch actually lands.
Rammus, Wukong and Sejuani sit at the top going in, around 53.4%, 53.3% and 52.9%. None of them are touched. What changes is the tier immediately below them.
Buffed and worth picking up:
- Kha'Zix gets the largest buff of the patch by raw impact. Evolved Leap gaining 100 units of range is a different champion, not a stronger one: it is the difference between committing to a jump and being able to reset out of a fight you lost. The passive damage increase on top of that makes his early skirmishing meaningfully better.
- Lillia gets two armor and half a second of extra sleep on her ultimate. Half a second does not sound like much until you count what a team can do with it.
- Elise gets attack speed on W at every rank, which is a clear speed buff and a duelling buff at once.
- Master Yi now refunds a flat 1 second of Q cooldown on hit. The old version scaled awkwardly. The new one is predictable, which makes him more reliable, not just stronger.

Nerfed and worth dropping:
- Poppy and Rumble both lose monster damage caps. Their lane and fight power is intact, but the clear is slower, which pushes back every early window they had.
- Nocturne loses 20 seconds on rank 1 R. At 160 seconds, one failed ultimate is most of a jungle cycle.
- Vi loses base AD and 2% of max health off her passive shield. She was already a champion that needs to commit, and she now survives committing slightly less often.
Mid lane
Yasuo, Yone, Ahri and Zed are the strongest mid picks going into the patch, with Sylas, Viktor, Akali and Fizz behind them.
The change to watch is Lucian. With the power moved from Vigilance into Q he is a better mid laner than he has been in a long time, because the thing that made him a bot laner (needing a support to proc his passive) is exactly what got cut. If Lucian mid becomes a real pick in the two weeks before Worlds, this is the patch that did it.
Ryze is nerfed, but read it properly: E costs more mana, Q Flux bonus damage is down, and Riot added armor growth back as compensation. That is a nerf to his early waveclear and a partial refund in durability. He is not being removed from the game, he is being made worse at doing nothing for 20 minutes safely.
Aurora gets 10 flat damage on E and a longer ultimate. Small, but she was already close.
Bot lane
Caitlyn, Jinx and Jhin are the strongest ADCs going in, with Kai'Sa, Miss Fortune, Tristana and Ezreal in the tier behind.
Draven gets 2 base AD. That reads as nothing and is not. Draven's entire game is the first three levels, and base AD is the stat that decides whether he wins the level 1 and 2 trades that snowball the rest of it.
Aphelios gets a multi-weapon pass: Calibrum damage up, Severum healing up, Gravitum's slow floor raised, Infernum's cooldown lowered and Crescendum's chakram damage increased. He is a difficult champion to recommend for climbing because his ceiling and his floor are far apart, but the buffs are broad rather than targeted, which usually means Riot wants him back.
For support, Lux and Lulu lead going into the patch. The item change matters more than any champion pick here: with World Atlas and Runic Compass carrying more regen and less health, poke supports hold lane better and engage supports get burst slightly more easily. If you play Leona or Nautilus, you are marginally worse off. If you play Lux, Karma or Morgana, you are marginally better off.
What to actually pick
If you want the short version:
| Role |
Pick after 26.19 |
Avoid |
| Top |
Fiora, Aatrox |
Nasus |
| Jungle |
Kha'Zix, Lillia, Elise |
Poppy, Rumble, Nocturne, Vi |
| Mid |
Lucian, Aurora, Ahri |
Ryze |
| ADC |
Draven, Caitlyn, Jinx |
Nothing nerfed here |
| Support |
Lux, Karma, Morgana |
Leona, Nautilus (slightly) |
One caveat that matters more than the table. A patch changes maybe two or three picks per role. It does not change the fact that most lost games are lost to the same mistakes every patch: taking fights without vision, recalling at the wrong time, and playing for kills when the wave says to push. If your win rate is flat across four patches, the champion is not the variable. Our breakdown of why LP gains stay low even when you win covers what the system is actually measuring.
A patch window is short. 26.19 lands on September 23 and 26.20 replaces it before Worlds, so whatever these changes are worth to your rank, they are worth it for about two weeks.
If you would rather bank the LP than learn two new junglers first, our boosters play the current patch every day: division boosting, or coaching if you want to understand the matchups yourself.
