Understand Mel's kit: Mel has unique abilities that revolve around deflecting attacks and controlling opponents. It is important to understand her abilities and how to use them effectively. The Best order of levelling them will be Q > E > W. Of course you upgrade R every time it's available.

Choose the right runes: The best runes for Mel are usually Sorcery and Precision. These runes increase her magical power and ability to control opponents. On Sorcery side you pick Arcane Comet, Manaflow Band, Transcendence and Scorch. On Precision tree you choose Presence of Mind and Coup de Grace. For passives, you select +8 Ability Haste, +9 Adaptive Force and +10-180 Health.

Collect the right items: The most important items for Mel are Blackfire Torch, Shadowflame, Liandry's Torment, Rabadon's Deathcap, and Void Staff. These items increase her magical power and ability to deflect attacks.

Manage your mana resources: Mel is very dependent on mana, so it is important to control her resources and avoid running out of it. Use her auto attacks to save mana.

Control your opponents: Mel is excellent at controlling opponents, so try to deflect them and control their movements. Use her Rebuttal ability to reflect opponents' attacks and force them to change their tactics.

Synergize with other champions: Mel works well with champions who can effectively support her in combat, such as Braum or Ornn.
