2nd Split of 2024 ranked season starts May 15

Second split of 2024 Ranked Season in League of Legends start in just 4 days. Here you can check a list of important changes, that will happen once 2nd split drop on May 15th.

Game developer make changes to the ranked system all the time, as with such big community it's really hard to keep the ranks healthy and fair for everyone. During first split of current season they made many adjustments that helped with the rank inflation. Thanks to them, now there shouldn't be an issue with wrong rank placement or negative gains. Tuning don't stop here, and here are the most important changes that will come to life with start of 2nd split next Wednesday:

• Players from the Top of the Leaderboard will be able to be placed higher than before. They will start rank climb between Emerald I and Diamond III.
• There won't be any big penalty for Demoting in the Division and it also means there won't be any protection for it. If you are at Gold III 5LP and you will lose 17 LP next game, then you will end with Gold IV 88 LP.
• Demoting from Tier will take your MMR into consideration. It means that if you were correctly placed, but had few unlucky games, then you will lose 25 LP (Gold IV > Silver 1 75 LP). If you lose rank because you are in place to high for you, you might lose 50 or even 75 LP with demotion!
• Player in Master Tier will be able to Duo Queue again! It will work until account gets placed in Grandmaster. This change won't apply to Korea and China servers.

These changes look very exciting! Without a doubt they should make ranking up more fluid and fun for all the players.
