First look into 2026 changes in League of Legends!

There is more than a month before the 2025 ranked season in League of Legends will end, but we already know what we can expect when it starts in January next year!

This year passed in the shadows of Noxus, so no one should be surprised that next will warm up with lights of Demacia! Just like this year, you can expect that Summoner's Rift will get a new theme. If you like blue and gold accents, this will be your time to shine!

In the tiktok era, and short span of focus, the games will start faster! Not only champion select animations will be cut, but also minions will march faster! To light up the way on the map, new Faelights will grant a temporary vision. Light won't reach Atakhan, Bloody Roses and Feats of Strength, so they will vanish in shadows next season.

You ask what's new? Well here what's new! The Crystalline Overgrowth - whole new mechanic! You like three-hit passives? Demolish is a three hit-passive. Inner and inhibitor towers will have plates now.

Bot laners will get gold and a new pocket in which they will be able to hide boots, so they can put 7th item on the menu. A little bit of love will also get into hearts of junglers, where they will gain extra move speed, xp and smite damage. Supports will be able to cheap out on discounted wards, that they will buy with more gold. They will also get a new slot for control ward.

When it comes to items, there will be nine of them and one of them will be Hextech Gunblade. Yes, he is back. When it comes to stats, crit damage rise back to 200%.

Ranked will see some changes too. If your MMR will be higher than your rank, other players and you will see it on loading screen. Flex MMR will be closer to Solo/Duo MMR, so games should have higher level. Autofill will be reworked and should work better and more fair. Autofill might be sought now, as you might gain double LP for win and don't lose any with Aegis of Valor. No dodges will save a player from autofill, and on Master+ it would count as full loss. Luckily the duos will get back in ranks above master.

If you don't plan on a ranked grind, you should see the same changes in swiftplay with exception to role quests. You will now start at level 3 with more gold. There won't be any Grubs or Rift Herald, dragons will show up faster!
