Zaahen, the Unsundered, is League of Legends’ upcoming top-lane champion! Get ready for another Darkin on Summoner's Field!
Just right before the SKT won another League Worlds, new champion was previewed. Zaahen will be last champion we will see introduced into the game this year. Wait for him won't be long, because he will get into the game with patch 25.23. The release date for it is scheduled for November 19, 2025.
**Here is few key facts about him**
*Role*: Top-lane bruiser focused on extended fights and sustain.
*Faction*: A Darkin survivor, tied to Xin Zhao’s lore and the broader Darkin storyline.
*Unique Mechanic*: His passive includes a revive, echoing Aatrox’s old kit.
*Playstyle*: Thrives in drawn-out melee battles, growing stronger the longer he fights.
*Counters*: Ranged poke and heavy CC champions like Jayce, Gnar, and Poppy.
**Ability Rundown**
*Passive* – Cultivation of War: Builds strength in prolonged combat, with a revive effect
*Q – Darkin Glaive*: Heavy melee strike, core damage tool
*W – Dreaded Return*: A Darkin-themed ability with crowd control
*E – Aureate Rush*: Gap-closing dash for mobility
*R – Grim Deliverance*: A devastating ultimate with AoE finishing potential
Zaahen isn’t just another bruiser—he represents Riot revisiting classic Darkin themes while innovating with revive mechanics. His kit rewards patience and endurance, making him a nightmare in long trades. Lore-wise, he expands the Darkin saga, connecting to Xin Zhao and the Trials of Twilight storyline.
